Editorials 2002

31st Dec 2002

Dear friends,

A happy new year to all citizens. Let us hope that this year there will be quiet on all fronts communal, political and labour. Even though we had been able to great extent to curb goondaism of all kinds, we are unable to ensure a trouble free life for the common citizen. We will certainly double our efforts during the coming year and I'm sure that those to visit this site will not lag behind in extending all their support in our endevour.

I beseech the common people of Kerala; especially those from this District, considered to be the Cultural Capital of Kerala, to keep up the best tradition of tolerance so that everybody minds his own business without disturbing the peaceful atmosphere conducive to a quiet livelihood.

As free Citizen you have a right to choose, but do not squander this right by choosing the wrong path. Choose a path which is beneficial to all citizens. Have the courage to achieve what you have chosen. Also aim high, so that even if you achieve only a little less, that will also be commendable performance.

Again I wish you all a Happy New Year and let God almighty help you to choose the right thing and give enough courage and fortitude to achieve it.

Thanking you,

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS

Dear friends,

Please excuse my inability to communicate with you through the website for the last few weeks due to certain personal preoccupations.

I hope all of you had a very happy Christmas, with plenty of fun and laughter with your families.

Many of you may have noticed that these days, we have been arresting and taking action against a lot of goonda elements from several places. This is in spite of the fact that some of these anti-social elements have the support of influential persons! It is my impression that “Rowdy activities” have come down to a great extent; thereby small issues are being given undue importance in the media. This is but natural, whenever news is scarce. The police have been quite firm in controlling incidents of vehicle thefts in the District, as also incidents involving thefts from places of worship. Consequently, such criminal acts have also been successfully curtailed. I am sure that these actions by your police officers will contribute to a peaceful and enjoyable New Year for all.

I am sure that many of you will agree with me when I say that incidents of drunken driving and brawls can be reduced drastically, provided that people themselves resolve to control alcohol intake at social events. I believe that firm resolve and resolute action against offenders supported by an alert public will enable this to be achieved. For this, public awareness of such social evils needs to be raised.

At the fag end of 2002, let us all resolve to begin the new Year of 2003 with a firm resolve to reduce drunkenness and also develop a sense of equanimity, allowing others to live their lives peacefully. Let us also take care to ensure that we do not interfere in the lives of others unnecessarily. Remember that it takes two hands to clap and make noise. At the beginning of the New Year, let us all take a resolution to do our part towards reducing social unrest and to help to spread peace and harmony in society.

I wish all of you a Very Happy New Year and extend my sincere greetings to each one of you.

Dear children,

Greetings to all children on the occasion of Children's Day (14-11-2002). For Years we have been celebrating the Birthday of our beloved former Prime Minister Sri. Jawaharlal Nehru as Children's Day in memory of his great love towards children.

On this occasion there will be several seminars and discussions on different subjects. As your Superintendent of Police, I would like to tell you all about our organisation and our activities.

Police has been in existence for centuries. We come across police even in the ancient puranas. Lord Sreerama is reputed to have had secret police. Quite possibly, the names were different and may be the concepts were different. But the duties of the police have not changed at all over the centuries. Most likely, the achievement of the goals may be different then and now.

Basically what is the duty of police? You may say law and order.. True .. but this is only a facet of the work. The main duty or responsibility is to protect the life and property of the citizens.

Under protection of life comes traffic (controlling of accidents, protection of pedestrians etc), control of anti-social activity (protecting people from antisocial elements, preventing drunken misbehavior, preventing sale of things harmful to human life etc), preventing crimes against persons, preventing atrocities against women, children and weaker sections and such other different activities.

Under protection of property comes preventing of thieving of different kinds, cheating the people in various ways, embezzlement of money, different kinds of frauds etc.

There are other things which cannot be categorized under these two heads such as ensuring a peaceful life for the people, dealing with agitations in such a way as to prevent loss of life, public and private property etc, giving helpful assistance to tourists, children etc.

In these modern times it is not easy to achieve the above goals. It needs the wholehearted co-operation of the general public including your children. You may ask why we need to help the police personnel. Since they are getting paid, let them do their work etc.. NO !! that is not so. Because policing affects all facts of public life. Therefore, unless people cooperate to achieve the common aim of peaceful and undisturbed living conditions, the police by themselves can do very little . So the cooperation of those who desire a peaceful life is essential and necessary for the efforts of the police to achieve the desired results.

Without going into more details let us see what you, the children can do to help the police in carrying out the work of protecting the life and property of the people. You can first of all take a vow that you will all obey the rules laid down for the benefit of the public. What are rules? They are never constraints. They are limits prescribed for your freedom so that your freedom does not encroach on the freedom of others. This is to achieve peaceful living for everyone. Unless you control yourselves to a certain extent, your activities may cause harm to others. Like not obeying traffic rules. It will either cause accidents and injury to you or for others. So strict obedience to rules laid down by the society is essential for good life. Therefore do obey rules.

Similarly, all of you can assist the police in their work, like NCC cadets assisting traffic police. Conducting your processions in an orderly manner so that policemen do not have to come and control you, leaving their other urgent duties. Generally, you can learn to be good citizens, doing minimum harm and inconvenience to others. That itself is a very great help to the police since it reduces their work load.

The police is now turning to do services to the people also. "Tourist Police" started recently is one such branch. They are specially trained to help tourists and give assistance as far as possible. It has only just started and will be a very great help to tourists in future.

"Highway Police" is another such service. This set of police in vehicles position themselves along the National Highways ensuring that the people have a smooth journey. They are expected to control overspeeding, dangerous overtaking, reckless driving etc on the Highways, thus minimising accidents on our busy highways.

The police establishment you may already know. The lowest level is the police station. This is headed usually a Sub-Inspector (SI) assisted by Head Constables and Constables and also by Asst. Sub-Inspectors. Two or more Police Stations are grouped into a Circle under a Circle Inspector (CI). Circles are grouped into Sub-Divisions under a Deputy Superintendent (DySP). Then at District level the controlling authority is the Superintendent of Police (SP). A number of Districts form Ranges under a Deputy Inspector General (DIG). The state of Kerala is divided into two zones under an Inspector General (IG). The overall head of the Police Department is Director General of Police (DGP). There are some other specialized branches dealing with specific matters, such as Crime Branch, Vigilance, Special Branch etc. A training wing is also there. These various branches of work as a single machine to protect the life and property of the people.

Let us conclude with a story of London Police. While describing a day in the work of London Police it is stated that a call came in the night at about 11pm that in a house where two old ladies aged above 80 live, one of them fell down from her cot. The other lady was unable to lift her up. Since it is very cold in that country leaving her on the floor would end her life. So that did they do? ... They called the police for help. Two police man and a police woman went there and helped the old lady to the cot, prepared hot coffee and gave it to her. They left assuring further service, if it was needed. Here we must understand that the old lady was confident enough to call the police since she was sure she will get help. And the police was ever ready to extend them service. This should be the goal of the service mentality of the police. You, young children and your elders should help the police to achieve this ideal as easily as possible.

Together let us make this world a better place to live in.

Dear friend,

Happy Deepavali to everyone of you. It is indeed a happy occasion. Let us convert this occasion into one of friendship and peace.

The same message was given by Sri. Sri. Ravisankar during his "Aanandotsavam" at Thrissur. Let us take an oath that life is not for hating and promoting enmity between different sections of the citizens and that we will, to the utmost of our ability to promote amity between all sections of the people. In the present context of in patience among all sections of the public, sanity, patience and ability to forgive are the qualities to cultivate so that the coming generations will influence the same and make this God's own country a better place to live.

While celebrating Deepavali let us remember that all kinds of crackers, while giving enjoyment to all, are the dangerous handled carefully. So let us be careful and happy. Watch the children and warning them of the dangers. A Deepavali without any untoward incident is our aim and help us to achieve this by being careful. We have been handling the goonda menace all along for the last few months. We have defenders been successful to a great extent. So far their activity against the public has come down to great extent. Their internal rivalry and settlement of old accounts have not ceased but we are at it. This has deep roots and requires patient careful handling. Expect all of you to lend a helping hand.

Connective criticism also welcome and solicited.

Dear friend,

Glad to interact with you again. As I have already stated, we are now concentrating on the interaction between the police and public. We have been impressing upon the police officers and men the necessity to behave police towards public . All the while action have to careful and firm. That is why our motto is appropriately "Mridu bhave, Drida Krithya". That is, polite and gentle behaviour and strong in action. We hope that if we dole out polite behavior in sufficient qualities continuously, the police would automatically change their attitude and stand behaving back in a polite and helpful manner.

While visiting I have been stressing this point and reiterating the advantageous of the same. I think by and by you all will feel the change in the attitude.

Even though I have called for suggestions (lawful of course) in bringing down the rowdy menace, responses are slow in coming. Is our public so tolerant of goonda menace? Or we becoming so complacent as to allow these things to continue? or we are so afraid? Please respond..

Dear friend,

Here we meet once again through the weekly editorial page.

You know the policemen are carrying out duties without regard to time, whether it is day or night, raining or shining etc. Therefore they get very little time to look after their family. As a result the welfare measures of the policemen and their family is also the lookout of the Department.

In this direction the Government and the Department had been doing a lot recently. These are in the matter of enhancing the convenience in the police station, providing new vehicles including motor cycles, construction of more quarters for those living with family and bachelors those in the camps. It is sincerely hoped that these measures will definitely improve the worship condition and working environment of the constabulary who form the entire activities of the department depends. This will in turn increase their outcome and also change their perspective. Their reaction to the public will also improve there by enabling the Department to provide better and meaningful service to the people.

Hope to meet you again soon,

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS

Dear friend,

After my last communication, there was some preoccupation for me, which prevented prompt further communication.

Since then, police had done some commendable work. You may have come across them in the Newspapers. One Rajendran, a notorious vehicle thief was caught by SI Mannuthy and a number of theft cases were detected. A gang of temple thieves were arrested by DySP - Crime Detachment and about forty old temple cases were detected. Again another vehicle thief was caught by CI Kunnamkulam and fourteen stolen vehicles were recovered. This month another gang of temple thieves were arrested by a Special Squad under DySP - Narcotic Cell and forty old cases were detected. A number of stolen idols were recovered from them.

In spite of all these things the action of rowdy elements and rowdy gangs could not be completely controlled. A number of people being sponsored by Chitty operators for extracting money from defaulters and also by vehicle loan companies for seizing of vehicles of loan defaulters are incessantly adding to the rowdy gangs. The above mentioned people turn into fresh gangs of vehicle thieves and rowdy gangs as the case may be when they gain enough experience. In this matter correct information from the general public and their unstinted cooperation are require for the police to successfully handle the menace.

Due to persistent police action, the rowdy menace on the common public could be controlled to a great extent. Recently, the rowdy gangs were attacked each other and caused two murder cases one each at Irinjalakuda and Pudukad. These cases have been fully detected and one a few arrests remain.

Anyhow we, the Thrissur District Police are dedicated to suppress this menace and we solicit the full hearted cooperation of the discerning public in this connection.

Even though the agitation about the hike in Electricity charges is expected in the coming days, I wish the public a very Happy "Navarathri".

With regards …

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS

Dear Visitor,

Hope you had a good Onam. We have done what we can to let you celebrate Onam with minimum disturbance. All celebrations especially, Pulikkali, were wonderful and I hope everybody enjoyed to the full extend.

Specially for Onam we had booked a large number of anti-social elements like pick pockets, trouble makers, other thieves etc. Hope it was as effective as intended. You know, nothing can be 100% perfect.

Accidents were more during the Onam season mainly due to increased traffic of holiday makers. Some people think that consuming alcohol and such other intoxicants is an integral part of the festival. If you consume these and confine to your house it is okay, but when you take to driving vehicles after consuming intoxicating drinks it affects the entire community. Youth in their prime are lost to the community. A study shows that the majority of accident victims are in the age group of 15 to 39. That is, the State or community is losing the active service of youth in their prime and in most productive age. Therefore I request such people to be more cautious and be more considerate to the younger generation. Realize that you are committing a crime seriously affecting the individuals concerned and also the entire community. It is also high time that other citizens realize this and wake up to counter this menace in any way they are able to.

This is all the more applicable to Thrissur District since the Highways here are probably the most accident prone in the entire Nation. Therefore the citizens of this district have a moral responsibility to rise to the occasion and erase this stigma.

Independence Day Message

Dear friend,

My sincere greetings on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Independence.

The restructuring of the Thrissur Police website is underway now and is nearing completion. You can expect an announcement regarding the first anniversary of the website any day now.

You must also be hearing about the renovation of the police force itself now being carried out in earnest. We have acquired a large fleet of new vehicles in recent months. We have also received an Ambulance vehicle, a brand new Mobile Laboratory, and an Accident Recovery vehicle.

A new concept in highway traffic regulation has been introduced with the inauguration of a special Highway Police Squad by the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala. This measure has been adopted to make our highways safer for road traffic and to ensure smooth flow of vehicles on the roads. The highways have been divided into more than twenty sectors. The Highway Police have been equipped with new Qualis vehicles and also specially designed uniforms, which will be visible from afar. These Squads will be on the roads twenty-four hours a day, patrolling each sector. I earnestly request the co-operation of all citizens with the new arrangements, thereby ensuring that your journeys along the highways are a pleasant experience always.

Once again I extend my greetings to all on the anniversary of our independence. God bless.

Dear Visitor,

Welcome back to www.thrissurpolice.com I hope most of you had a very peaceful and productive week, with no untoward incidents or unpleasant events. It is my experience that a little care and alertness goes a long way in preventing accidents and mishaps. However, there seems to be a prevalent tendency these days to ignore even basic safety precautions, probably due to a lack of awareness on the part of the public regarding such matters. It is my duty as your Superintendent of Police to remind you to take adequate care of yourself as well as your loved ones by being vigilant all the time. This effort would go a long way in reducing incidents of robbery and other petty crimes. It would also help the police to take care of bigger crimes by freeing our policemen from routine duties. I am sure that most of you would agree with me that the primary aim of the police should be to tackle problems of a serious nature that cannot be taken care of by the common citizen. I request all concerned members of society to cooperate with us in this matter, so that we can make our living environment safe and healthy for the future generations.

The festival season of Onam is just around the corner and reports of illicit inflows of liquor have been received from different areas. The Thrissur Police is keeping itself alert and ready to deal with all such reports as they come in. May I remind all law-abiding citizens of Thrissur that such unlawful and dangerous activities can be effectively checked only with your co-operation. I call upon each one of you to help us in tackling this serious issue so as to make this Festival season joyful and free of unpleasantness. Please do let us know whenever there are suspicious movements of vehicles or individuals in your neighbourhood. I shall take quick and effective remedial action.

Our student friends are faced with the prospect of their school examinations in the near future. I hope they are well prepared to face their exams with confidence, with earnest and sincere preparation. I wish all of them luck for the examinations and for a well deserved break from school afterwards.

Please do keep sending me your messages and suggestions. I look forward to hearing from you.

With regards,

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS

Dear friend,

The Onam Season has already started. It is time to see that we take proper precaution to escape from the clutches of their and such other bad characters who are getting ready to start their thing in earnest. For this we have gone to the press with some suggestions for the people who go out from their houses for enjoying the holidays.

1) Don't keep too much cash or ornaments in your house.
2) Keep all doors and windows closed.
3) Avoid collection of paper before the house indicative of the absence of the house holders.
4) Avoid use of other types of locks in the front doors to avoid the advertises the absence of the house-owner and fit padlocks to the front doors atleast.
5) Don't keep implements like chopper, axes etc outside the house which can be used as implements by the thieves.
6) If you leave vehicles outside house it has only minimum fuel inside and see to it that the vehicle does not start easily.
We are also taking actions to see that we put behind bars the maximum number of pickpockets and petty criminals so that employees getting bonus and other allowances can take it safely to their houses.

We are also devising methods to reduce vehicle thefts. You can expect some useful suggestions next week

Dear friend,

Welcome back to www.thrissurpolice.com. I am glad to know that this weekly message is being seen and appreciated by many of you, going by the feedbacks I am receiving through the website. As I mentioned last week, it is my aim to inculcate a sense of civic responsibility and a positive attitude towards society among the younger generation by interacting with them as often as I can. This website enables me to communicate with them by making use of the facilities of the Internet. I invite all of you to make use of this facility by sending me your concerns and views on matters of public interest. I shall do my best to resolve all such issues promptly.

It is almost a year since this website was officially launched by the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala Sri A.K. Antony on August 26, 2001. Since then, it has been our continuous effort to make this website useful and interesting for the benefit of the public. I am glad to share with you the information that most of the messages received through the site have been positive and very supportive of this effort. A survey conducted among visitors to this site has revealed that about 60% of our visitors are Non-resident Keralites based abroad. Clearly, this project has been well appreciated, although there have been instances where the responses to some complaints have not been as prompt as we would have liked. One of the reasons for this is the newness of the Internet technologies, which some of our people are not able to pick up easily. However, I am sure that we will be able to overcome these shortcomings without much delay and to ensure that we respond to your concerns efficiently and promptly. In the meantime, please do bear with us and give us your support. Together, we can move towards creating a better society for our younger generation.

Please do send me your messages and suggestions on possible improvements to this website. I look forward to hearing from you.

With regards,

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS
Superintendent of Police.

Dear visitor,

First of all let me confess that this district is new to me. By the by I'm absorbing the specialities and peculiarities of the District and imbibing its multifarious personality. Therefore naturally my responses will be a bit on the slow side, but it must not lead you to surmise that an impervious to the needs of the citizens of this District.

The thought which has been passing through my mind off and on is that rather than trying to educate the already opinionated mature citizens, it will be more advantageous, effective and fruitful to try it on the younger generations, to wit, school children. I have already taken some concrete steps in this direction. My interaction with the young, energetic and enthusiastic children of the Chinmaya Vidhyalaya was the first step. The children were very receptive and also willing to interact.

My attempt by this exercise was to remove the fear and aversion about uniformed force from the minds of the children and also to let them know that police men are only a set of people designated to do some specific duties, just like Doctors, Civil servants and others. The role of the children in helping the police force in their duties and also why they should do it was also emphasized. Any how it was a happy session and I, aim to continue this as long as I continue in this post.

Thank you all for helping us by giving an opportunity to correct and improve ourselves to become more efficient in serving the nation and citizen in our beloved district.

With regards

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS
Superintendent of Police.

06th July 2002

Dear visitor,

Welcome back to www.thrissurpolice.com. As many of you have noticed, this section was inactive for the last three weeks, since we are in the process of putting in place certain additions and procedures for better police-public communications. From this week onwards, I shall be highlighting a particular issue of public interest regarding which I shall be happy to hear from each one of you. I believe that such an exercise could serve as a model for finding solutions to certain common problems of the public. I am particularly interested in hearing from concerned young college-going citizens about issues that affect them adversely. Please do take a few minutes every week to respond to this column. This would be of immense value to those of us who are protectors and guardians of the law and order situation in our society.

The issue I would like to focus on this week is the increasing number of incidents of chain-snatching and daylight robberies recently. What I would like to know from you is whether any of you have been personally involved or know of any such incidents first-hand. I would also like to know about actions taken (or otherwise) by local police officials at such times and what effective steps could be taken to prevent such incidents. I am sure that you will agree with me that each one of us needs to be vigilant in controlling incidents of such crimes, and that the perpetrators must be punished, in the interests of a better society. I look forward to hearing from you.

With regards,

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS
Superintendent of Police.

25 May 2002

Dear friend,

Welcome once again to the official website of the Thrissur police. This is my first message to all of you, and I would like to convey my regards to each one of you. I have taken charge as Superintendent of Police on 10 May 2002, and am presently in the process of acquainting myself with the people and places here. Since this is my first posting in the district, I have decided to take the time to familiarize myself with the area thoroughly, in order to be able to carry out my responsibilities to the best of my ability. I am sure that I can look forward to your whole-hearted cooperation in this regard.

At the very outset, I would like to announce some of the major areas I shall be focusing on, as your Superintendent of Police. It has come to my knowledge that there are increasing instances of goondaism and other anti-social activities which are being fomented, in some instances, by vested interests. It is my firm belief that this scourge of society can be effectively tackled only by concerted and committed action on the part of the police force, effectively supported by concerned members of society. To this end, I request each one of you to assist the members of your police force by timely information about the activities of the gangs, their hideouts and motivating person behind them. Traffic accidents are also on the increase, mainly due to carelessness and over speeding. I think that with a bit of care, many of these incidents could be prevented. There are many places in the district where traffic can be improved by minor adjustments without any appreciable expense. Suggestions from the public are invited. Useful and economic suggestions will be published in this website. Also, it is the duty of concerned members of society to ensure that society is made a better and safer place to live in for future generations. I am personally convinced that a better society of the future can be evolved provided members of the senior generations take the time and effort to educate their younger counterparts about their role as responsible members of society. I aim to reach out to young members of society and play my part in laying the foundation for an active role as pillars of future society. Through this website itself, I shall be participating in interactive chat sessions with students of local educational institutions. In this way, I hope I shall be instrumental in playing my part for future generations. I invite you to send in your opinions and suggestions on all topics of concern to you where I may be able to be of assistance.

I am very happy to inform you that an information given by a well wisher of the society leads to a siezure of obscene cassattes and CDs from a cassatte library 'Akkaras' in the City. I am hopeful that such true and matter of fact responses will continue in future.

I look forward to hearing from you on the above issues. Thank you

G. Janardhanan Nair IPS
Superintendent of Police.

Dear friend,

This week India faced another much-tensely situation, when more than fifty train passengers were burnt alive in Gujarat. And later it is developed in to riot and started killing people each other without mercy. Curfew is imposed in all over Gujarat. The ‘Bharat Harthal’ that held last day was observed peaceful except one or two incidents. The department is alert on the situation and operating mobile patrol to monitor the situation.

At this point of time I request you to please do not react to any provoked situations. It is our experience that such sensitive situations are being exploited by some anti-social elements to add fuel to fire. We consider your emotional feelings, but at the same time we expect you to keep patience. If you need any assistance, please call in the following telephone numbers.

1. Office: +91- 487-361000 (+fax)
2. Residence: +91- 487- 361600
3. Control room: 100

Let me take your attention to the counterfeit currency notes. Recently we seized some fake notes from Mathilakam. It is our knowledge that many people still use currency note without noticing whether it is fake or original. There are a lot of security measures to identify a currency note to check for original. So next time onwards makes sure that you are using original notes.

We are receiving many mails from the NRI’s, requesting help to their family live here. I promise our whole-hearted support to you. Let me remind you once again that, we are taking necessary action to all the complaints that we receive through website. Keep send in your views to us.

With regards,

Dear friend,

Welcome back to thrissurpolice.com and thank you very much for your valuable suggestions.

This week the State faced strikes in many of the Government services. The strikes were observed as peaceful in the district and no major incidents reported till now. The department is doing our best to avoid as well as to control such sensitive situations with the help of some well-wishers. It is our sincere wish to end up such situations peacefully with everyone’s support. So I expect everyone to co-operate with the situation.

In a raid conducted two days back, the police seized a mass storage of explosives from the house of Marottikkal Joy at Puthur. The police suspect this person is involved in supplying explosives for gang wars that took place in this district a couple of weeks before. The further investigation is proceeding in this matter. The Town East Sub-Inspector Mr. M.J. Sojan headed the raid.

I would like to take your attention towards Ms.Amita Shankar, who lost her life in the Engineering college campus after colliding with a high-speed bike of a student of the same college. Information received that some students in this city also travel in high-speed and I'm warning those who drive in racing speed and make discomfort to other drivers will be punished. These practices in public roads will not be allowed. I believe that the parents also have great role in controlling these activity.

I expect the public’s support in eradicating such anti-social activities. If you have any information about any sort anti-social activity, please call me in the following phone numbers.

1. Office: +91- 487-361000 (+fax)
2. Residence: +91- 487- 361600
3. Control room: 100

I expect your whole-hearted support in the future also and continue send in your views to us.

With regards,

Dear friend,

Thank you once again for the responses that you are sending through this website. We are giving necessary attentions to all the suggestions that you put forward to us and will be discussed in the appropriate forums.

When I recollect last year, it is observed that Thrissur sustained the peace through out. I personally believe that this website is helped to bridge the communication gap between the police and public. I expect this should be maintained in the future also and share your problems with us. I would like to remind you that please do not give importance to the rumours about the department and try to understand the motivation behind such exploitation.

Dear friend,

I hope all of you had a very happy and prosperous New Year.

This week we conducted many raids through out the district to stop the flow of illicit liquor and drunken drive. In another raids conducted we were able to cease Ganja and other drugs in three different cases by the Town East Police under the Circle Inspector M.J.Mathew and Sub-Inspector M.J.Sojan. The police is extending further enquiry for the rest of the people involved in this drug-mafia. I expect all of you to co-operate with us and keep us informed in case of emergency.

The traffic accidents in the district highways are tending to increase now-a-days. We have started a new patrolling team for monitoring the over speeds and other violations. The life is precious so do not play with it.

As a precaution against violence, the district will observe restrictions for conducting processions and such gatherings for a limited period. Special permission should be needed for such functions.

Please make use of the ‘Bulletin Board’ to express your views on a particular issue.

With best wishes,

Balram Kumar Upadyay IPS.
