There has been no decision as yet regarding the deployment of central police forces in the District for the forthcoming elections. However police forces from other states will be made available. It has been decided to appoint 2496 police personnel for election duties. In addition there will be 843 special officers as well. Each and every polling booth will be under close scrutiny.
Where there is need for additional police forces, the necessary personnel will be made available immediately. Police forces from other states will depart immediately after the elections. During the vote-count, only local police will be deployed.
