A facility has been introduced at the District Police Office, which will enable citizens to avail of speedy processing of Passport applications. This facility, termed as the District Passport Cell, started functioning at the Thrissur District Police Office from the 1st of January 2004. This Cell, which functions under the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Special Branch), is manned by one Sub-Inspector, assisted by 2 police constables and one woman police constable. Passport applications may be submitted directly at this office on all working days between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Applications must be accompanied by the requisite documents as detailed hereunder.
In case of Urgent passports, the applicant may apply directly to the Superintendent of Police for issue of a Verification certificate, which would normally take around five days.
List of documents to be attached for fresh applicants
- 8 identical color photographs
- For proof of Date of birth - Ration Card / Election I.D. Card / Water Tax / Telephone Bill / Bank Pass Book (Running) / Electricity Bill / Nativity Certificate / Residential Certificate (3 copies of any of the above)
- Date of birth Certificate from School last attended / Affidavit Sworn before Magistrate / Notary Public (3 copies of any of the above)
- 3 copies of Degree / Diploma Certificate
- 2 photocopies of NOCs of Govt / Public Statutory Body Professionals.
List of documents to Renewal of Passport
- 8 identical color photographs
- Photocopy of Passport already having a passport
For change of address
- 2 copies of Ration Card / Election I.D.Card / Nativity Certificate / Residence Certificate / Marriage
Certificate.
List of documents attached to the passport of the children
- 8 identical color photographs
- 1 photocopy of Passport of Parent, 3 Photocopies of Birth Certificates of children.
- Declaration / Affidavit of Parents (Whether Parents are abroad)
