Dear friend,

Thank you very much for your valuable suggestions and informations that you are sending us through our website thrissurpolice.com. As all of you know, the main intention of this website is to create a communication platform for the people to interact directly with the higher officials of Police Department and can share their experiences wit us. We plan to introduce novel things to make our website more user-friendly and interactive. If you have any suggestions please send to us at the earliest. You can wait for some changes in design and in presentation by the end of this month. We expect your support in the future also.

One important thing that I would like to take your attention is the traffic problems caused in M.G.Road, M.O. Road and in other main roads in the City. The main reason is found to be the processions and other activities lead by different Associations and Unions. But it is difficult for our Department to take a common decision to stop such activities. So, I expect journalists, politicians, social welfare groups, public and other associations to discuss these matters in the appropriate forums and take a concordant action in avoiding such activities that makes normal life more painful. I am happy to extend our support for any activity that will lead to build a better society.

Another main reason for the traffic problem is the obstructions caused by various departments while at work. The gutter made by these departments is a main cause for many accidents. So, I expect the cooperation of these departments in taking necessary steps to avoid such activities that cause such traffic problems and accidents in the District. If you have any such traffic problems, please let me know. Once again I repeat that your cooperation is our success. I wish you all the best.

With regards,

Balram Kumar Upadyay IPS.

Dear friend,

Thank you very much for your valuable suggestion that you are giving through this website. We are giving necessary importance to all of your feedback and complaints and doing our best to seeing it solved.

This week went with a series of issues in the city. The timely and appropriate steps taken by the bank employees and public foiled the attempt of a bank robbery in the City. The situation was arised when the culprit arrived the Kuruppam road branch of State Bank of Travancore wearing a mask holding a revolver at around 12pm. But, the attempt was foiled by the employees and helped the police in arresting the culprit. I’m happy to congratulate the employees as well as the public for their bravery. (click here for more details)

We were able be arrest a quack doctor who was working with a private hospital in the city as a Paediatrician. He posses fake M.B.B.S degree and investigation reveals that he already worked in many private hospitals throughout the State from 1974 including some famous hospitals in Thrissur. So, I expect everyone has to be alert on such situations and help us to take necessary steps by informing if you experience any problems. (click here for more details)

I would like to remind you that take necessary attention to lock all the doors with standard locks while leaving your house. Please report to us as soon as possible if theft is occurred. (click here to read the precautions)

From the articles received from you, the department is studying the traffic problems and suggested improvements in the District. As part of implementation we are going to conduct eye-camps for the drivers soon, given order to take necessary action against over-speeding of the private buses and will mark the divider-line in the traffic junctions and bus stops.

With best wishes,

Balram Kumar Upadyay IPS.

Dear friend,

Thrissurpolice.com has completed five months of operation, and it has been my experience during this period that the project has been exceedingly well received by the concerned citizens of Thrissur, resident in Kerala as well as abroad. Indeed, just yesterday, I received a message from a ‘Thrissur-ite’ based in the United States of America, who writes that he is extremely glad to see the effort that has gone into this website project. He states further that he would like us to ensure that the standard of the work is maintained even in the future, so that the citizens of Thrissur may enjoy the benefits of this project in future also. I welcome the views expressed by this concerned citizen of Thrissur, who continues to follow developments in his hometown, although he finds himself thousands of miles away in a different country. I invite all of you who have similar views on the subject to correspond with me through the website itself. It shall be my earnest effort to see that the work so far done continues at least at the same level, if not better. We shall be developing even more features over the next few weeks. Please keep yourself posted on these developments.

The traffic problems of the district have been discussed widely in the press as well as through the website, these last few weeks. I have received several articles dealing with the subject from visitors to the site, and some of the more interesting ones can be viewed on the Bulletin Boards section of this website. Please do go through the same and respond to the views expressed therein. I shall be only too glad to hear your views on the matter, one that concerns each one of us.

This week, the department was able to arrest the culprits in a murder in which the victim’s body was torched subsequently. The incident took place near Irinjalakuda. The police force led by Hentry Johnson, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Irinjalakuda, ably assisted by the Circle Inspector, N. Krishnankutty Pillai carried out the successful investigation. My congratulations to all the police officers concerned.

One of the important festivals of India is Dussehra (or Navarathri), which is being celebrated all over the country this week. My best wishes to all of you for a safe and enjoyable festival season, and especially to my student friends, who will be enjoying a respite from their studies.

Season’s greetings and best wishes,

Balram Kumar Upadyay IPS.
