Dear Visitor,

Welcome to Thrissurpolice.com, the Internet address of the Thrissur Police Department. As you are aware, the IT revolution is upon us already and it has become essential for each and everyone of us to acquire a working knowledge of the technology involved. Through Thrissurpolice.com, I hope to be able to bridge the gap between the public and the police. At the same time, I would like to see more interaction between us in the department and the people we serve. It is my hope that this close cooperation will serve to make our society a safer and better place for us and our families. In order for this to happen, there needs to be more involvement on the part of informed citizens such as yourself. I invite you to make use of this opportunity to help us make our society a better place to live in. Please do send me your views and suggestions regarding improvements that could be made in our delivery of police services. Also, feel free to send me your complaints directly where I may be able to be of assistance to you. One last point: constructive criticism is always welcome, but please do bear in mind that after all, like yourself, we policemen are also human!

with best wishes

Y. Anilkumar IPS.

Dear Friend,

Welcome back! This last week has been quite eventful as far as the website is concerned. I am glad to inform you all that we have had over 10000 visitors to the site this last week, from as far away as the Arabian Gulf states and even the United States of America. The website project has been generally well received by Internet visitors, and this gives us a lot of confidence for the future. Overall, I feel that people are ready to make use of this new technology to communicate with us, and the responses I have received so far tend to bear me out. I feel certain that with more efforts, this activity can be made a model that inspires people everywhere.

Some people have sent in complaints about the misbehavior of some policemen and that they tend to behave in an unprofessional manner. On behalf of the department, please accept my apologies for all such incidents. I have given strict instructions to all my officers not to condone any such misconduct on the part of such police officials and to take appropriate action wherever required. I am sure that with adequate training and corrective action, such incidents could be brought to a minimum.

Schools all over the District are reopened for the new academic year, and with it the monsoons have also arrived. All of us have a duty to ensure that our school-going citizens are well taken care of, especially on their way to and from school. Parents need to take special care to see that the vehicles in which their children travel are safe and that the drivers drive carefully. Some auto rickshaws have a tendency to take on more students than are safe for transporting, especially during the rainy periods. Also, certain buses tend to ignore students waiting at bus-stops. Please let me know about any such incidents, I shall take appropriate action as needed. I feel that with adequate care on the part of parents as well as school authorities, our children could be ensured of a safe and hassle-free travel experience this season.

with best regards

Dear Friend,

Welcome once again to thrissurpolice.com, the e-venture from the Thrissur police department. I am happy to be able to share with you my experiences over the past five months, the period during which I held charge as your Superintendent of Police.

These last five months, the Thrissur police department has been able to solve as many as 19 of the 20 murders that occurred in the district. Special credit is due to my team which was able to successfully solve the Kuthiran murder case, although the actual murder took place in Alwaye, in Ernakulam District.

Last month, we were able to successfully and peacefully complete the elections to the Kerala Legislative Assembly, thanks to the cooperation and support of the public. Also, the most exciting festival in Kerala, the Thrissur Pooram, which attracts visitors from all over the world was also conducted smoothly, without any untoward incident. I extend my appreciation to all of you, on behalf of my colleagues and associates at the Police department.

I have always believed that professionalism and proper training with modern methods would immensely improve the working as well as the image of the Police. To that end, I was happy to be part of several schemes involving the public of Thrissur, such as the "Clean and Green", "Police Help-lines" and "Vidyarthi Snehi". I hope that all these activities would continue with the same impetus under my successor as well.

To end, permit me to extend my warmest regards to all of you that were instrumental in making these activities a success. I hope and pray that we will be able to work together in the future as well.

With best wishes from my team,

Y. Anilkumar IPS

Dear Friend,

Welcome once again to thrissurpolice.com and thanks for making this venture a great success. We are happy to inform you that around fifty thousand netizens have already visited our website and we are getting a lot of feedbacks and complaints through our website. We promise you that all the complaints and feedbacks will be handled with at most care and seriousness.

The last week went with a lot of re-location in the Department’s Higher Officials through out the State and in Thrissur District too.

After the third week of School re-opening in the District we were able to help the Students during their journey. A programme ‘Vidhyarthi Snehi’ was launched in order to help them. The Department had taken necessary action against the bus operators who did not stop at bus stops during School time. To make their journey more comfortable and safe, the department has strictly warned the Autorikshaw and Van drivers who ply with overcrowded School Children and traveling with children in front seats. Advised auto drivers to use side grills while carrying Children. We would like to call upon the parents and school authority also to give their attention on this aspect.

The Police Arrested one of the absconding convicted persons involved in Tony murder case. Our team arrested two members of vehicle robbery racket last week and four cars were seized from them. Further investigation revealed that these persons are members of a team from the neighbouring state and the search for other team members is in full swing.. In another case Police arrested one such motor cycle-lifter from Mathilakam and seized four motorcycles from them.

Police Department have taken action against around fifteen bus operators who violated traffic rules in different part of the District, in spite of strict warning.

The Department goes ahead with the public welfare programme started by the Police Department last week.

With best wishes

Dear friend,

Welcome once again to thrissurpolice.com. I'm very glad to inform you that our website is well received by the people inside and outside India. Around Seventy four thousand people already visited our website in just 48 days. Thanks for these responses from you, that make us more responsible towards our duty. Such communications help us to solve many serious issues. I repeat that all the complaints and feedbacks will be handled with at most care and significance and we are taking actions against the complaints as earliest as possible. Please make sure that you correctly furnish your details while sending complaints to us.

As a continuation of the investigation of case against vehicle robbery racket, we could arrest two men from Madurai, who were identified as members of this racket. Police department is deeply concerned about the Increasing traffic accidents in city and other parts of the district. We are working out some plans on this issue for minimizing such terrible mishaps. It is not possible to prevent such mishaps unless and until participation and co-operation of public is there. Public should strictly abide with traffic rules and also make complete utilization of the footpath while walking. Any suggestion from public regarding this issue is most welcome.

Then I would like to take your attention towards another serious issue. It is nice to know that there are a lot of Cyber Cafés in the City. But, some of them are involved in anti-social activities like exhibiting porn movies. We conducted raid at some Cyber Cafes, who involved in such activities and seized their computers. We warn that, such anti-social activities will be strictly dealt with. I invite the participation of public in filtering out such anti-social elements from the society by intimating us in time about them. Our request to parents, teachers and social workers is to give proper guidance and create awareness among the new generation on this regard. As the society is getting aware of Internet, the possibility of getting trapped is more.

At this point of time we have to remember that this millennium faced victims of fake ‘blade-financing’ companies of eighties and ‘Teak, Manchiyum, Goat’ scams of nineties. I fear that this era will face different versions of such cyber related crimes and both of us have to be alert on this issue. So my premonition to those, especially to the NRIs, who invest their life-long earnings, is that make thorough enquiry before involving in such businesses.

With best wishes
