 SP's Editorials - 2001 July

7 July 2001

Dear friend,

Once again welcome to thrissurpolice.com. I’m very glad to inform you that our website was visited by more than one lakh netizens. Your suggestions and information are treated with atmost care and importance. Within our time limit we are trying to reply to all those who have written to us, so please try to furnish your correct details for further reference.

We conducted a “Combing Operation” under Kunnamkulam Sub Division on 4th July and were able to trace many petty cases, which include nearly hundred motor vehicle petty cases, and five drunken drive cases. It also included a surprise visit to the houses of ex-convicted persons. This "Combing Operation" is found to be effective and the department is planning to conduct similar type of operations in different part of the District in the immediate future.

The department is taking necessary action against the complaints registered through our website. On behalf of the complaints registered against immoral trafficking, our department arrested eight women from K.S.R.T.C. Bus Stand this week. Necessary action has been taken in another complaint registered against the parking of vehicles at the entrance of Santhosh Nagar road area near to Mannuthy bye-pass junction.

In another Vehicle-lifting case the Police nabbed a motor vehicle lifter gang at Mathilakam, while trying to steal the car after pushing the driver out of the car with the help of another four persons who came in another jeep.

There are hundreds of road accidents in our District in a month and the statistics shows that most of the accidents are due to the driving after consumption of alcohol. In spite of several warnings, it is noticed that the attitude of some of the drivers towards this aspect has not changed. Remember, it’s an Offense of Law and we will take strict action against them, who violates the law.

With best regards,

Balram Kumar Upadhyay IPS.
