09 Feb 2002 Dear friend, Welcome back to thrissurpolice.com and thank you very much for your valuable suggestions. This week the State faced strikes in many of the Government services. The strikes were observed as peaceful in the district and no major incidents reported till now. The department is doing our best to avoid as well as to control such sensitive situations with the help of some well-wishers. It is our sincere wish to end up such situations peacefully with everyones support. So I expect everyone to co-operate with the situation. In a raid conducted two days back, the police seized a mass storage of explosives from the house of Marottikkal Joy at Puthur. The police suspect this person is involved in supplying explosives for gang wars that took place in this district a couple of weeks before. The further investigation is proceeding in this matter. The Town East Sub-Inspector Mr. M.J. Sojan headed the raid. I would like to take your attention towards Ms.Amita Shankar, who lost her life in the Engineering college campus after colliding with a high-speed bike of a student of the same college. Information received that some students in this city also travel in high-speed and I'm warning those who drive in racing speed and make discomfort to other drivers will be punished. These practices in public roads will not be allowed. I believe that the parents also have great role in controlling these activity. I expect the publics support in eradicating such anti-social activities. If you have any information about any sort anti-social activity, please call me in the following phone numbers. 1. Office: +91- 487-361000 (+fax) 2. Residence: +91- 487- 361600 3. Control room: 100 I expect your whole-hearted support in the future also and continue send in your views to us.
