This week a general meeting was held in Chavakkad comprising of the officials from the police department, the political leaders, journalists, concerned representatives of the social welfare organizations and the public to discuss about the present scenario that is developed all over the State and to get the feedback directly from the them. I am glad to announce that the discussion is found to be very effective and many important points have been put forward. One of the reasons that we found that develop such situation is the anti-social group, who patronize such situations. Our department is always ready to participate in such active discussions in the district that will benefit the public to clarify their doubts, expressing their suggestions and thus will bridge the communication gap between the policemen and the public. I take your attention towards these anti-social groups and the public should be vigilant on such situation. Please keep us informed about such activities so that the police can act without deferment.

All of you know that we have started a new section called “Sabarimala Special” for the benefit of the pilgrims to Sabarimala via Thrissur. Our districts being the cultural capital of Kerala have arranged necessary facilities to welcome them. We have arranged six 24 hrs aid-posts in Guruvayoor for the benefit of the pilgrims. I believe that the route maps and other details available in the website will help make the journey more comfortable.

The ‘hartal’ on Dec 6th was found to be peaceful in the District and the department was alert on the situation.

I wish all of our visitors Ed-ul-Fitr greetings. This holy festival is celebrated by worldwide Muslims after their thirty days long systematic life and prayers.

As a part of strengthening the police-public relationship, next week we are attending another general meeting at Thriprayar. Prominent citizens from Nattika and Cherpu will also attend the meeting. I believe that such meetings will be helpful to the people.

In order to make acquainted with traffic laws, The Lions Club together with our Department is arranging the distribution of handbooks related to traffic and first aid kit to the public for free. The function will be held today.

I am glad to announce that the feedback that we are receiving daily shows that newly launched ‘Sabarimala Special’ is widely appreciated by the people inside and outside Kerala.

The department has intensified the raids against the flow of illicit liquor and was able to trace out thirteen thousand liters of illicit liquor from Kunnamkulam, which was coming from a neighbouring State. This occurred only a couple of days after the raid of sixteen thousand liters of wash from Chalakudy. I expect all of you to cooperate with us and keep us informed in case you have any information of such anti-social activity.
